Achievements
Urban Space Management and MojaNation won a Business Arts South Africa (BASA) award in the community development category in 2022. The award follows the contribution made by the collective in a street art and beautification initiative as part of the Newtown Revitalisation Project, that was supported and funded by the City.
The project’s aims were twofold, the first being a revitalisation of the infrastructure and existing public artworks, including the exterior of Museum Africa and the standout carved wooden heads placed throughout Newtown in the early 2000s. Furthermore, the project created brand new public artwork to tell Newtown’s story.

Vision Statement
Urban Space Management strives to create spaces of impact. Where people, businesses and the environment strive and are sustainable per their highest and best use. The primary goal is to create clean and safe spaces.

A City Improvement District is a non-profit organization operating within a defined geographic area, within which property owners, tenants and business owner agree to pay a levy for supplementary and complimentary services.
Set to enhance the physical and social environment of the area. A CID collects a voluntary levy from the members in the area. The funds collected are dedicated levy which can only be spent in the specific CID area and is used to provide “top up” services according to an approved Business Plan.
These services provided by the CID are supplementary to those provided by the municipality, which continues to provide normal services.
